The difficulty comes when the same file has to act as a database, a work queue, and an approval system for several people. A custom app can give each person the right view of shared information while keeping the business rules consistent.

We begin by reviewing the workbook with someone who uses it. Formulas, macros, linked files, and manual corrections each need attention. We identify which behavior to preserve and which steps you want to change.
Next, we agree the records the application will store and who can access them. We can plan imports and exports so your team can still use spreadsheets where they are helpful.
Before switching over, we compare the application’s results with agreed examples from the workbook. That includes unusual inputs and exceptions, not only the rows that are easy to process. Migration and rollout belong in the project scope from the start.
A converter or a custom application?
A spreadsheet converter may be sufficient if the main task is sharing a calculation through a browser. A custom application is worth considering when the process needs several connected workflows, detailed permissions, integrations, or a database that becomes the shared record.

Start with one workflow
